PS. We are actively looking for a Treasurer for the group. There are no complicated elements to the role, so if you're numerate and have a few hours a year to spare, please consider putting yourself forward.

Get Involved!

Our group holds meetings, attended by community members, representatives from City of Edinburgh Council and the Parks & Green Spaces, and Edinburgh World Heritage Trust.

RNIB Fundraiser Parachute for Sensory Garden

We are delighted to announce that staff based at Scotland's Royal National Institute for the Blind will tomorrow be parachuting in Perthshire to raise funds for our Sensory Garden tomorrow (2/6/2012) in Perthshire.

The Scottish RNIB centre, also based at Hillside Crescent, is accessed by many via a path that runs through Hillside Crescent Gardens.  As such, we have sought to work together with RNIB to ensure that the needs of all users of the Gardens be listened to, resulting in the creation of our forthcoming Sensory Garden.  

The RNIB have been a key support for the Inspring Hillside group, supporting the project every step of theway, and we are delighted to have their support.

Take Part in Our Survey!

One of the key aims of the Inspiring Hillside project is to listen closely to the views and suggetions of the communities that use and pass through Hillside Crescent Gardens.  So, whether you are a resident of the area, work here, or just pass through we would like to hear your thoughts and feelings on how you feel Hillside Crescent Gardens could be improved, and what you would like to see included in any future work.

Inspiring Hillside Garden Event

Funded by the Big Lottery Award, the event aims to ‘inspire’ the local community and raise awareness of proposals for Hillside Crescent Gardens which include landscaping, a central piece of public art and a sound art installation. 

We are currently working on a community survey to canvas local opinion that will be available to download soon.
